Well, not really, but the clown prince of atheism admits that he is a “cultural Anglican”:
“I see evensong in a country church through much the same eyes as I see a village cricket match on the village green. I have a certain love for it.”
This is about as Anglican as most actual Anglicans in England these days; he should be careful he doesn’t end up the Bishop of Chichester or something.
At any rate, while some of his more ardent fans may be irritated by this seeming softness on the question of whether all religious people should be obliterated in a nuclear holocaust, they can perhaps take heart that at least it’s not the most off-putting thing he’s said lately.
