The vice presidential debate: Where were the women at?

I liked the abortion question ultra-capable moderator Martha Raddatz asked in the vice presidential debate last night — there toward the end, when I’d all but given up hope the words “woman” or “women” would ever be mentioned.

But the question — and the candidates’ answers — barely scratched the surface of the woman question. Read Feminist Peace Network’s Feminist Debate Fantasy:

I really wish she hadn’t framed abortion  as a personal issue for a couple of Catholic guys. Frankly I don’t give a crap what their personal or religious beliefs are. What matters is their political stance on the subject. Not to mention that we really need to discuss reproductive rights as a whole, not just reduce it to the abortion question.
